4.7M litres/day, 5-year permit
On November 15, 2021, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks renewed the water-taking permit (No. 3133-C5BUH9) for Triton Water Canada Holdings Inc. (BlueTriton Brands), allowing extraction of up to 4.7 million litres of groundwater per day (3.6M L/day at its Aberfoyle/Puslinch well plus 1.1M L/day at its Erin/Hillsburgh well) for five years, despite over 12,000 public comments opposing the renewal, most during a provincial moratorium period that was lifted to allow this deal.
