$60M+ acquisition; ~90% of Ontario bottled-water extraction
Ice River Springs, through its holding company White Wolf Property Management Inc. (owned by James and Alexandra Gott), paid over $60 million to acquire BlueTriton/Nestlé's former Aberfoyle and Hillsburgh water-bottling wells in early 2025. The Ford government's Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks then transferred the water-taking permits to White Wolf under a streamlined process (proposal 025-0730) that eliminated the 30-day public comment period and Indigenous consultation requirements previously required for permit changes. With this acquisition, Ice River Springs/White Wolf now controls an estimated ~85-90% of Ontario's bottled-water extraction permits.
