Internal Metrolinx reports obtained by The Trillium (Aug. 12, 2026) singled out MTZ Rail Constructors for "several serious safety issues." According to the reports, the Ministry of Labour stopped MTZ's work in July 2024, which the reports call an "unexplained incident," and MTZ was then placed on a Safety Improvement Plan. An August 2024 Metrolinx report recommended suspending MTZ's work at King City GO. Metric, Toronto Zenith and MTZ did not comment. No injuries were reported in the incidents described.
