Beneficiary

$47,200 per year (2024, 2025)

The Vaughan—Woodbridge PC riding association, represented by associate solicitor general Michael Tibollo, paid Venu Event Space $47,200 in each of the last two years for Tibollo's annual "Chestnut Roast" fundraiser, according to a Toronto Star analysis of riding association annual reports filed with Elections Ontario. That made it the top line item among the cabinet ministers' associations the Star reviewed. The money came from political donations that qualify for provincial tax credits and from the public subsidy paid for each vote received. Venu Event Space sold a venue and event services; the accountability question raised by the reporting is about how the riding association spent tax-subsidized money, not about the vendor.
