Live Nation is redeveloping/expanding the Budweiser Stage (now RBC Amphitheatre) on Ontario Place's East Island as part of the province's Ontario Place redevelopment. The provincial environmental assessment for the redevelopment excluded the portion of the East Island hosting Live Nation's music venue as well as the entire West Island (Therme site) from its scope, and the Rebuilding Ontario Place Act (Bill 154, passed Dec 2023) gave the Therme and Live Nation developments a blanket exemption from the Environmental Assessment Act.
