RESCON filed a legal application in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on/around December 2, 2024, seeking a mandatory order to prevent the City of Toronto from imposing green building requirements through its Toronto Green Standard, arguing such matters fall under provincial (Ontario Building Code) rather than municipal planning authority. Bill 98's move to strip municipal green building standards would achieve the same outcome RESCON sought in court.
