$1M grant (score 42/100)
According to an internal ministry database obtained by the Toronto Star (November 14, 2025), Scooty Mobility scored 42 and was given $1 million to teach 100 workers about the "transformative impact of AI in fintech." Ministry staff cited "no prior experience" and said there were "more risks to the application than strengths"; the "minister's rationale" cited community partners and recruitment of under-represented workers. The Star reports Scooty hired two lobbyists with Tory connections, including former Ford staffer David DiPaul. Piccini's spokesperson said Scooty has "extensive experience" in AI and fintech. Scooty's CEO did not respond to the Star.
