Chris Glover
MPP for Spadina—Fort York (NDP). Raised the Ontario Place combined sewer overflow plan in the legislature and at public news conferences in January and December 2025. Published Infrastructure Ontario's own Request for Qualifications, which directly contradicted the Ministry of Tourism's claim that the CSO rerouting was "unrelated" to Ontario Place construction. The IO RFQ explicitly described the project as "re-align and modify the combined sewer overflow at 955 Lake Shore Boulevard West for the Ontario Place redevelopment project."
Connected Scandals
To prepare Ontario Place for a private Austrian spa, the Ford government rerouted a raw sewage overflow pipe into the West Channel of Lake Ontario — bypassing public consultation, exempting the project from environmental review, and proceeding over the objections of physicians, landscape architects, and 2,250 Ontarians who formally opposed the plan.
Raised the sewage issue in the legislature and at public news conferences, documenting the government's contradictions. Published Infrastructure Ontario's own RFQ that contradicted the Ministry of Tourism's claim that the CSO construction was "unrelated" to Ontario Place. Called Bill 5's elimination of public consultation on Ontario Place permits "a shocking abuse of power."
Doug Ford's government introduced Bill 110 to seize all of Little Norway Park — a children's playground and waterfront green space beside two schools and a daycare — to expand Billy Bishop Airport into a jet hub, with no plan, no environmental assessment, and no guarantee the park won't become a parking lot.
NDP MPP for Spadina–Fort York. Delivered a 30-minute second reading speech against Bill 110 on May 4, 2026, calling it 'another giant real estate scam.' Raised concerns about traffic congestion at what he described as a 'dead-end street,' and safety risks of jets flying near schools and high-rise towers on the waterfront.
