Robert Sabato
Craft Development Corporation
President of the Craft Kingsmen Rail subsidiary and key figure behind Craft Development's acquisition of Union Station air rights beginning in 2013. Negotiated the original $78.7 million purchase agreement with CN Railway and Toronto Terminals Railway, and publicly offered the air rights to the City of Toronto for $340 million (or $25M/year lease) for Rail Deck Park in 2020 — an offer the city declined. When Metrolinx expropriated the rights in 2021–2022, Craft Kingsmen pursued a $492.9M compensation claim.
Connected Scandals
A company co-led by Ford's close friend and PC Party fundraiser Carmine Nigro extracted an undisclosed settlement from Ontario's public transit agency after claiming $500 million for air rights it never fully paid for — and the Ford government refuses to say how much taxpayers owe.
Led Craft Development's decade-long accumulation of Union Station air rights, beginning with purchases from CN Railway in 2013. As president of the Craft Kingsmen Rail subsidiary, was central to the $492.9M OLT compensation claim against Metrolinx that settled confidentially in late 2025.
